DOWNTOWN 500 ZINE IS INSPIRED BY
REYGAN BLAISE PUTMAN
AKA
CASPER BLAISE
AN ARTIST / CLOWN / BABY / FREAK / THEY / SHE / MORE?

DT 500 ZINE: – Tell us who is Casper Blaise?
CASPER: – Even I don’t know. Casper Blaise is just me experimenting with fashion and art. I find it very hard to define myself.
DT500 ZINE: – What and who is your inspiration?
CASPER: – ‘M heavily inspired by all sorts of things from lowbrow artists and painters, to random color combinations I see on a daily basis. I really like to take from whatever I can.

DT500ZINE: – Where do you live?
CASPER: – I go to school in Chicago at School of the Art Institute of Chicago but
” …I am from a small town in Tennessee right outside of Nashville. I’ve come to appreciate both because they are so opposite, and have so many different forms of inspiration to offer.”
DT500 ZINE: – You have a style that is very much gender-neutral, there is a lot of debates going around that subject today… Do you think the young generation do not conform to the so-called gender norms?
CASPER: – Yes, I think that the idea of menswear/ womenswear is unnecessary.
” No matter who a person is, they should be free to dress how they want without judgment or labels.”
DT500 ZINE: – are you a rebel?
CASPER: – I definitely do feel like a rebel. I try to operate outside of what people want me to do and be.

DT 500 ZINE: – So punk is not dead?
CASPER: – No! Punk is not dead.
” As long as there are genuine people looking to better the world and spread creativity, punk is alive and well. I know plenty of people that prove that. “
DT 500 ZINE: – Does one have to make a change in the world?
CASPER: – Yes,
” …all changes start small. “
DT 500 ZINE: – What is a typical day like in the life of Casper Blaise?
CASPER: – I’m actually very boring because I don’t like to go out much. If I’m out, I’m either going to class or going to a thrift store. I spend a lot of my time alone making things, listening to music, and spending time with my dogs if I’m home in Tennessee.
DT 500 ZINE: – You have many followers on your Insta, how digitalized will we be?
CASPER: – I think the future undoubtedly will become more digitalized,
” … but I think with that comes a bigger appreciation for the real world around us (at least for me). I think both worlds are significant as long as they are balanced. “
DT 500 ZINE: – your best from the last year?
CASPER: – In the last year, I’ve done a lot of experimenting with my art and my appearance, and I think that is one of the most important things a person can do.
” I’ve been teaching myself to feel more and more comfortable with just doing stuff, to see if I like it or not, instead of planning and stressing over things. “

DT 500 ZINE: – Any mint artist on the go?
CASPER: – My favourite artists are painting – Charlie Immer, photography – Parker Day, fashion – Di$count Universe.
DT 500 ZINE: – What is next for Casper Blaise?
CASPER: – I plan on expanding and becoming more impulsive in my work.
DT 500 ZINE: – THANX
