Anthony Lister, the celebrated Australian painter and installation artist known for his provocative blend of high and lowbrow culture, is set to unveil his latest body of work in a highly anticipated exhibition in Sydney. Lister’s artistry transcends conventional boundaries, drawing inspiration from street art, expressionism, and contemporary youth culture. His work has garnered international acclaim, with solo exhibitions across Australia, the United States, Europe, and the UK.

In the run-up to his 2015 exhibition at New Image Art in Los Angeles, Lister turned Venice and Downtown LA into an open-air studio, covering the city with new street works that would feed directly into a major body of paintings, bronze sculptures, VR and live performance.
DT500 Zine followed the artist through this intense two-week period, capturing a practice that refused to stay inside the gallery — moving between street art, painting, sculpture, technology and performance.
Featuring voices from graffiti writer Risk, gallery owner Marsee Goldberg, director Mark Simpson and performance artist Ariel Brickman, the film offers a snapshot of an artist pushing against the boundaries of contemporary art.
