“Since I and so many brave survivors have come forward, titans of every industry have toppled. We survivors have gained our power. We survivors are using our voices in record numbers. We cannot let up, and as hard as it is, we must continue to get even louder, to push even harder. We all count. We all matter. Here’s to freedom, yours and mine. Now go breathe fire.”
― Rose McGowan, Brave

” We are oscillating above the harsh vs soft vision of reality that is closely linked to artist’s perception of the body in its physical, cultural, and psychic dimensions. The group of portraits shown at our exhibition intends to question the way in which we understand and relate to inherent aspects of human experiences, such as uncertainty and eccentricity but also to culture and the symbolics that make it identifiable. ” -Arthur Sopin and Andreas Rod

” EVENTUALLY I WON MY POINT, WHICH WAS: – ” I AM AN ARTIST AND THAT TAPE IS ONE OF MY ART WORKS AND IT BELONGS TO ME.” YES THEY CAN HAVE A COPY. I HAD A POINT OF VIEW AND A REASON TO FIGHT. ON THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW I SAID: “LITTLE BROTHER WATCHING BIG BROTHER”. THAT WAS A BIG STATEMENT AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE SAW THAT. IT MEANT THAT ANY INDIVIDUAL WITH A CAMERA (WHICH CAN BE A POWER WEAPON USED TO PROTECT ONE’S DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS) CAN HOLD THE AUTHORITIES AND THE POLICE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS ON THE STREET ! THAT WAS THE BEGINNING OF A WHOLE NEW DIGITAL AGE. “

DON’T GET STUCK ON WHAT YOU CAN’T DO.IN FACT DON’T GET STUCK ON ANYTHING. THE WORLD LEAVES NO ROOM FOR BOREDOM.SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHARE THEIR IDEAS WITH YOU.BE WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE CONFIDENT ENOUGH NOT TO GET TERRITORIAL.THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN TOO MUCH RATHER THAN TOO LITTLE. IF YOU CREATE YOUR OWN REALITY, YOU’LL MANAGE.

FROM THAT PLACE, AS SOON AS MY EYES ARE OPEN, I CAN NO LONGER ESCAPE. NOT THAT I AM NAILED DOWN BY IT, SINCE AFTER ALL I CAN NOT ONLY MOVE, SHIFT, BUT I CAN ALSO MOVE IT, SHIFT IT, CHANGE ITS PLACE, THE ONLY THINGS IS THIS: I CANNOT MOVE WITHOUT IT. I CANNOT LEAVE IT THERE WHERE IT IS, SO THAT I; MYSELF, MAY GO ELSEWHERE. I CAN GO TO THE OTHER END OF THE WORLD; I CAN HIDE IN THE MORNING UNDER THE COVERS, MAKE MYSELF AS SMALL AS POSSIBLE. I CAN EVEN LET MYSELF MELT UNDER THE SUN AT THE BEACH-IT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. WHERE I AM. IT IS HERE, IRREPARABLY: IT IS NEVER ELSEWHERE. MY BODY, IT’S THE OPPOSITE OF UTOPIA: THAT WHICH IS NEVER UNDER DIFFERENCE SKIES. IT IS THE ABSOLUTE PLACE, THE LITTLE FRAGMENT OF SPACE WHERE I AM, LITERALLY, EMBODIED. MY BODY, PITILESS PLACE.

Whether in business, the professions, the arts, or in personal and community life, such skills are essential in fostering The Group Projects or the Social Artistry which will lead to constructive change. Conversely, without these skills, collaborative activity tends to degenerate into the kinds of petty bickering which gives “committees” their reputation for inefficiency and interpersonal vulnerability.
Frank E. Weinert and Rainer H. Kluwe psychologists explain that Role-Playing develops a capacity for metacognition (or dialogue with unconsciousness) the ability to think about the ways one thinks. It is a natural result of the exercise of role-distance, the shifting between the role of the part being played and the role of the actor in the conference with the director about how that part should be performed. The resulting “choosing self” is a psychological complex which represents a degree of mental flexibility that is a step beyond the ordinary rational level of consciousness because it deals with the realistic capacity to shift among some different frames of reference. It may even be that this type of mental flexibility represents the next step in the evolution of consciousness.

” My best talent is the ability to turn everything into a light game. I try to approach everything I do with a sense of playfulness. I play games. Even in the projects that demand a lot of energy and effort. I make choices to try to sustain the playful quality that we had when we were kids – to avoid limiting myself and to use my imagination freely. We must never forget how to play: So many great things can come out of it!”

“OPEN UP” IS ABOUT DARING TO BE HUMBLE, VULNERABLE. AND HONEST. IT IS ABOUT DARING TO EXPOSE FEELINGS AND LETTING PEOPLE SEE THAT YOU’RE NOT PERFECT. NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE DARE TO MEET ON TOTALLY HONEST LEVEL, MASKS OFF. LIFE CAN HURT YOU IF YOU DO NOT DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS PROPERLY, NEGATIVE ENERGY CAN BE PERSISTENT. WE MUST DARE TO LET PEOPLE ENTER.

” TOGETHER WITH KUNSTHALL OSLO AND MUNCH MUSEET IN MOTION, WE HAVE AN EXHIBITION PROGRAMME ATTRACTING A HIGHLY VARIED AND BROAD ART CROWD TO THIS AREA. AND A BIT FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD THE MUNCH MUSEUM AND MAIN LIBRARY TOGETHER WITH THE OPERA HOUSE, ALL THAT WILL FORM A RARE AND POWERFUL CENTRE FOR THE ARTS. I BELIEVE OTHER GALLERIES WILL FOLLOW SOON TOO.”

“Suppose I were to give you a key ring […] with a hundred keys, and I was to tell you that one of these keys will unlock it, this door we’re imagining opening in onto all you want to be, as a player. How many of the keys would you be willing to try?’
[…]
‘Well I’d try every darn one,’ Rader tells Lyle.
[…]
‘Then you are willing to make mistakes, you see. You are saying you will accept 99% error. The paralyzed perfectionist you say you are would stand there before that door. Jingling the keys. Afraid to try the first key.”
― David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest

DT 500 MAG SHARES THE CONTEMPORARY ART CONTEXT OF MORTEN VISKUM AND REQUIRES MORE ATTENTION AND REFLECTION OVER TIME, IN ORDER FOR SEVERAL LAYERS OF MEANING TO BE ABLE TO EMERGE. WE MUST HAVE A DEEP AND HONEST DIALOGUE WITH THE ART WORK IN ORDER TO GET ANYTHING OUT OF IT.

” I JUST HOPE TO CONVEY SOME EMOTION TO THE VIEWERS. IF THIS HAPPENS, YOU CAN SAY THAT I HAVE ACHIEVED MY PURPOSE. I TRY TO BE VERY HONEST WITH EMOTIONS THAT I APPLY IN MY PHOTOGRAPHS. I USE PHOTOGRAPHY AS THE BEST WAY TO SHOW THE FEELINGS I CAN NOT EXPRESS IN WORDS OR DEEDS.”
