Good evening, distinguished guests, partners and members of the Elephant and Castle community.
Factuals Media Hub was established with a clear ambition: to contribute to the cultural, creative and economic vitality of South London through the power of media, collaboration and community engagement.
Under the direction of Arthur Sopin, MA alumnus of the University of the Arts London, the organisation is driven by a long-term commitment to positioning Elephant and Castle as a leading centre for creative production, cultural participation, social inclusion and entrepreneurial growth.
As one of London’s most dynamic and diverse neighbourhoods continues to evolve, we believe culture must remain central to shaping its future. Factuals Media Hub exists to support that vision.
Our Role Within the Community
Factuals Media Hub is more than a media studio.
Situated in the heart of Elephant and Castle, it operates as a multidisciplinary creative platform where artists, photographers, filmmakers, designers, writers and entrepreneurs can connect, collaborate and develop new work.
Part creative saloon, part production facility and part cultural meeting place, the Hub provides an environment where ideas can be exchanged freely and where emerging talent can access the networks, visibility and opportunities needed to thrive.
Our aim is to strengthen the local creative ecosystem while ensuring that cultural participation remains accessible, inclusive and community-led.
Diversity, Representation and Inclusion
Elephant and Castle’s greatest strength lies in its diversity.
Factuals Media Hub is committed to celebrating and reflecting the breadth of cultures, identities and lived experiences that shape contemporary South London. We actively support initiatives that promote equality, representation and social inclusion, including programmes that champion LGBTQ+ communities and underrepresented voices.
Through our editorial, educational and creative work, we seek to foster dialogue, encourage mutual understanding and create opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange.
We believe that diverse communities produce stronger creative outcomes and more resilient cultural infrastructures.
Strategic Priorities 2023–2027
Creative Production and Cultural Innovation
We will continue to develop Factuals Media Hub as a recognised centre for creative production and interdisciplinary collaboration.
By providing affordable access to resources, studio facilities, professional networks and mentorship opportunities, we aim to support the next generation of cultural practitioners working across media, visual arts, film, photography and digital culture.
Community Engagement and Participation
We are committed to deepening our engagement with local residents, community organisations and grassroots initiatives.
Through public programmes, workshops, talks and collaborative projects, we seek to create opportunities for participation that strengthen social cohesion and encourage civic engagement through culture.
Supporting Local Enterprise
Creative economies flourish when local businesses prosper.
Factuals Media Hub will utilise its media, communications and production capabilities to support businesses across Elephant and Castle and the wider Southwark area. Through storytelling, strategic marketing partnerships and collaborative campaigns, we aim to increase visibility for local enterprises while contributing to sustainable economic growth. Creative and Media Hub:Strengthening our role as a central gathering place for creatives, offering inclusive spaces and resources that support collaborative projects and artistic endeavours from all backgrounds
Cultural Programming
Our programme of exhibitions, screenings, performances, talks and workshops will reflect the cultural richness of South London while creating space for critical conversations around contemporary social, artistic and economic issues.
By bringing together artists, academics, entrepreneurs and community leaders, we hope to facilitate meaningful dialogue and encourage cross-sector collaboration.
Digital and Physical Platforms
As cultural engagement increasingly operates across both physical and digital environments, Factuals Media Hub will continue investing in platforms that connect local creativity with wider audiences.
Alongside maintaining an open and welcoming physical space, we will expand our digital presence to showcase talent, document cultural activity and foster international connections.
Social Impact and Responsibility
Our work is underpinned by a commitment to social value.
We will continue to develop initiatives that support community wellbeing, champion diversity and contribute positively to the cultural and economic resilience of Elephant and Castle.
By working closely with local partners, charities, educational institutions and cultural organisations, we aim to deliver lasting impact beyond the creative sector alone.
Looking Forward
Factuals Media Hub is proud to call Elephant and Castle home.
We believe the future of South London will be shaped not only by investment and development, but by creativity, participation and community ownership. Our ambition is to contribute to a neighbourhood where cultural innovation, economic opportunity and social inclusion are mutually reinforcing.
As we look towards 2027 and beyond, we invite residents, artists, businesses, institutions and partners to join us in building a more connected, creative and culturally confident Elephant and Castle.
Together, we can ensure that culture remains a catalyst for positive change and a cornerstone of South London’s future.
In collaboration with Henie Onstad Art Center and the Oslo School of Photography, CYAN studio organizes Norway’s largest show for photo artists.
At CYAN folio, a group exhibition and a professional seminar constitute a meeting place and platform that paves the way for discovering photo projects during work, sharing personal experiences and ideas and initiating new collaborations in Norwegian photo art. It is a meeting space with gallerists, curators and editors to view and discuss your photo project with curators from photo festivals such as Landskrona Photo Festival, Copenhagen Photo Festival and Nordic Light, show pictures to intermediaries such as the magazine Photography and the Culture Agency Mesén and get to know personally a selection of Norwegian photo galleries and museum curators.
The event is supported by Foto.no, Nordic Light Festival, Preus museum, DOK20, NORDphotography and Studio Technika in addition to Canon Norway and Trippus conference tools. #cyanfolio # cyanfolio2020 #portfolioreview
